Textile Care

  • Home Goods

Table runners, rugs, and any woven home goods should be dry cleaned only. If you accidentally spill a liquid on the fabric, blot clean immediately with a rag or paper towel to soak up the moisture. Then dab a bit of seltzer water on the stain to lift any discolorations. Lay flat to dry.

  • Tapestries

Woven wall hangings are meant to be a permanent piece of art and should not be moved around much. Aside from the occasional dusting, your tapestry will be very low maintenance. I suggest rolling a lint roller over the fabric once a month to pick up any lint or dust. Fringe pieces may become tangled or wind blown from time to time. Simply comb out from top to bottom with fingers, a fork, or hair comb.

  • Color

Avoid prolonged sun exposure for natural color dye. Plant dyed fabrics may fade over time, as this is the nature of botanical dyes. Be conscious of where you hang or display any woven pieces containing plant dyed fibers as these are more sensitive to chemical reactions and fading.
